Hello Fishers, IN and the Indy Metro area!! My name is Melissa Bailey. I am a wife, mother of 4 and self proclaimed chef. I wanted to take a minute to share why this page "I'm Not A Baker" is so special to me. My whole life, I've loved FOOD. Creating food, cooking food, serving food, sharing food.......I feel it is an art form and a form of love. I've always said to any friend or family member "If I'm cooking for ya, then I love ya!" Food is sharing my heart and passion with those I love. Nothing brings people together quite like food, except music which is also a passion of mine, but FOOD, brings everyone around the table. When eating and sharing food, people open up, share ideas, discuss important matters or not so important matters. You laugh and cry with food and let's face it it sustains us.... so all in all food is pretty important. Well I feel this same way about a party! Celebrations of all kinds, they are SPECIAL. I love planning parties, throwing parties, creating inviting environments for those to share, laugh, love and live..... it's all a joy to me. My favorite thing about a killer party (besides the drinks) is THE CAKE! I've always been in love with Cakes!! They should always be the centerpiece of any Party! So when my first little girl came, I started making her parties as special as she was to me. I would research cakes, find the one I liked and then call around for the best price. Then when my second little bundle came, cakes had evolved and became bigger - more involved and more expensive. While planning my sons 2nd birthday party, I tried to outsource the cake I wanted... and at the time, the prices were just not in our budgeting. As I was sulking, my husband says..... Honey, I bet YOU can just make this cake! You can do it. 💡 So I ordered supplies and made my sons -2 tier, Bubble Guppies, 2nd birthday cake... from scratch; which is the cake pictured as the pages profile picture. It was my first ever, successful cake! So from there on out, I made our birthday cakes. As each birthday passed and more children entered our lives..... our friends and family would say you should sell these, they are great! A modest me would always reply, "well, I'm not a baker, I just love a good cake for a great party......" And I'm not a baker; I'm a cook, creator and lover of people and food; bringing them together and celebrating lives of the ones I love and hold dear. Cakes are just the symbol of those celebrations and of the love I hold for someone. I have created several cakes all from my heart for my family and I'm ready to share my heart with you. Now full disclosure- I am amateur, I am not perfect at these. I'm just starting out , but if you order a "I'm Not a Baker" Cake, I promise you that the same love I put into the cakes, cookies and parties I make for my family will be the same love I put into yours.
